Michael Rosner is a licensed marriage and family therapist based in Woodland Hills, California. His approach is integrative, empathetic, and rooted in real-world experience—including a 30-year career as a practicing attorney.
"Therapy isn’t about giving advice. It’s about asking the right questions and creating space for people to find their own answers."
— Michael Rosner, LMFT
"After 30 years in law, I realized there was something more I was meant to do. Becoming a therapist has allowed me to bring everything I’ve lived into the work I now love."
Michael Rosner, LMFT
Before becoming a therapist, Michael spent three decades in high-pressure legal environments. Along the way, he experienced firsthand the toll that stress, burnout, and emotional suppression can take on one’s mental and physical well-being.
That journey—and his own healing work—ultimately led him to the profession he now calls home.
Michael does not believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. He draws from a wide range of modalities and tools based on the unique needs of each client.
His toolkit includes:
Depth-oriented and psychoanalytic approaches
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Mindfulness & somatic practices
Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM)
Family Systems approaches
He works with individuals, couples, and families, and he particularly enjoys helping:
Teens struggling with school, social anxiety, or family conflict
Adults navigating anxiety, trauma, or life transitions
Couples in distress or disconnection
Professionals facing burnout, overload, or existential questions
Michael is known for being calm, kind, and deeply present. He brings a nonjudgmental, collaborative energy into each session, working with clients to define their own goals and move at a pace that feels right.
Clients often say they feel:
Heard without being judged
Gently challenged when needed
Emotionally supported
Empowered to make meaningful changes
"I don’t come into sessions with an agenda. I listen, I reflect, and I offer tools when they’re helpful. Mostly, I try to show up fully—so you can, too."
